♻️ National Recycling Day is this Saturday, November 15! Yesterday, we kicked things off early with a special visit from Beth from FarmSudz, right here in Chelsea. If you’ve ever been to their shop, you know Beth—her amazing smile, deep product knowledge, and of course, her signature blue hair make her unforgettable! Beth joined us for a presentation hosted by our 3R’s Committee, sharing practical and inspiring ways to reduce waste at home. She highlighted simple swaps like shampoo and conditioner bars, refillable laundry detergent and cleaning supplies, and the company’s commitment to using compostable and recyclable packaging whenever possible. She also worked with our committee to create a fantastic hallway display near our dining rooms to showcase sustainable products and easy steps we can all take to be better stewards of our environment. We loved having her here at Silver Maples—and we’re grateful to our 3R’s Committee (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle) for continuing to educate, inspire, and champion greener living in our community. 💚♻️

🥂✨ Celebrating 28 Years of Silver Maples! ✨🥂 Each November, we embrace the season of gratitude and raise our glasses to honor Silver Maples’ remarkable years of service to older adults. At the heart of our success are the relationships we’ve nurtured: between residents and staff, families and caregivers, neighbors, and friends. These bonds are built on trust, compassion, and shared purpose. As our CEO beautifully reminded us, it’s the dedication of our staff and the spirit, stories, resilience — and yes, even love — of our residents that make Silver Maples truly special. A highlight of the evening was recognizing residents and team members who have been part of our community for 15+ years, celebrating the commitment and heart that have helped shape Silver Maples into the vibrant, caring community it is today. The celebration continued with a gourmet dinner in our beautiful dining rooms, where laughter mingled with memories and the connections that turn neighbors into family. Cheers to 28 incredible years! Today, we gathered for a moving Veterans Day program led by Chaplain Jeff Crowder, with beautiful music provided by our Silver Maples & Friends Choir. Their voices filled the room with “American Anthem,” “My Country ’Tis of Thee,” “America the Beautiful,” and “God Bless America” — each song a reminder of the deep gratitude we hold for those who have served. Chaplain Crowder shared a meaningful prayer, reminding us that while we can never fully repay the courage and sacrifice of our veterans, we can strive each day to show our appreciation through love, respect, and gratitude. Today we’re celebrating our incredible “numbers people,” Natalie and Kara! These two manage all the financial activities at Silver Maples with expertise, care, and precision. They’re not only exceptional stewards of our resources—keeping us strong and steady—they’re also funny, talented, and simply wonderful to work with. We’re so grateful to have them on our team! Happy International Accounting Day!

Spa day at Silver Maples was pure pampering! Thanks to Mary Kay rep Theresa for the fabulous facials, lotions, and makeup, and to Main Street Dermatology for the generous samples. Our amazing staff gave hand massages and did nails, and we wrapped it all up with a glamour photo shoot! Who says you can’t treat yourself like a star?

We're always thrilled to welcome our friend Keegan from @thelakehousebakery! 🥧 His passion for food history, fun facts, and sweet treats makes his programs a resident favorite. Our residents love his “Dining Through the Decades” series — we started in the 1920s and ate our way through to the 1990s, learning what was cooking (and what things cost!) along the way. His recent “Candy is Dandy” presentation was a sweet hit leading up to Halloween. And if you’ve ever taken his Pie Crust class… you know. His secrets completely change the game for bakers! It’s not just about the food — it’s the stories, nostalgia, and his genuine love for what he does that make every visit special. We can’t wait to see what he’ll bring next! Halloween at Silver Maples was spooktacular! Our staff went all out with themed costumes — we had Dalmatians on the loose, a trip down the rabbit hole with Alice in Wonderland, buzzing bugs with their beekeeper, and a box of colorful crayons that brightened everyone’s day!💜 Our residents joined in the fun too — including one clever “cereal” killer who had everyone laughing. What a frightfully fun day filled with creativity and smiles! Happy Halloween 🎃

Another memorable day with our adventurous group! Our recent adventure took us to Hell… Michigan, that is! 😈Lunch at the Hell Saloon was devilishly good, and the laughter was even better. We always enjoy a good outing with great company!
