Day trips offer a perfect little getaway! We recently enjoyed a trip to the Grand Rapids area to check out the annual Fred & Dorothy Fichter Butterflies are Blooming tropical butterfly exhibit at Meijer Gardens. While all the butterflies were beautiful, the large blue Common Morpho was the star of the show! We enjoyed seeing the different kinds of butterflies and watching all the kids interact with the butterflies too. While there, we explored the other indoor gardens, admired the beautiful spring flowers in bloom, grabbed a bite to eat in the Meijer Garden Café and of course hit the gift shop - everyone left with a special token from the visit. #silvermaplesoutandabout
Would you change anything about your life? What is the hardest thing about being this age? What is the best thing about being this age? Residents at Silver Maples were inspired by the recent Judy Gelles "The Fourth Grade Project" show at the Chelsea District Library and decided to create their own show at Silver Maples Gallery 100; with slightly different questions! Come view these beautiful photos taken by Max Harrison Johnson and read the interesting insights from residents at Silver Maples. This show will be in our Gallery 100 from March 20-April 23. The March birthday lunch is one of our favorite special events to sponsor as we not only celebrate people born in March, but also St. Patrick’s Day. We love hanging out with our friends at the senior center and really enjoy dressing up for the holiday! If you haven’t been to the Chelsea Senior Center, be sure to check it out….they have a lot going on! ☘️💚
