We're always thrilled to welcome our friend Keegan from @thelakehousebakery! 🥧 His passion for food history, fun facts, and sweet treats makes his programs a resident favorite. Our residents love his “Dining Through the Decades” series — we started in the 1920s and ate our way through to the 1990s, learning what was cooking (and what things cost!) along the way. His recent “Candy is Dandy” presentation was a sweet hit leading up to Halloween. And if you’ve ever taken his Pie Crust class… you know. His secrets completely change the game for bakers! It’s not just about the food — it’s the stories, nostalgia, and his genuine love for what he does that make every visit special. We can’t wait to see what he’ll bring next! Be sure to follow The Lakehouse Bakery and Keegan to see what he's cooking up next! #CommunityConnections
Halloween at Silver Maples was spooktacular! Our staff went all out with themed costumes — we had Dalmatians on the loose, a trip down the rabbit hole with Alice in Wonderland, buzzing bugs with their beekeeper, and a box of colorful crayons that brightened everyone’s day!💜 Our residents joined in the fun too — including one clever “cereal” killer who had everyone laughing. What a frightfully fun day filled with creativity and smiles! Happy Halloween 🎃
Another memorable day with our adventurous group! Our recent adventure took us to Hell… Michigan, that is! 😈Lunch at the Hell Saloon was devilishly good, and the laughter was even better. We always enjoy a good outing with great company!
We’re so grateful for the kindness, compassion, and spiritual guidance Pastor Jeff shares with our community each week. From worship services and hymn sings to choir practice and thoughtful discussion groups, his presence brings comfort and connection to residents, families, and staff alike. Thank you, Jeff, for all you do!
We are a house divided, one day out of the year — MSU vs. UofM game day! Our tailgate event was a huge success; staff and residents enjoyed the tasty tailgate food, competitive cornhole tourney, trivia, and fun banter. GO BLUE! 💙💛 GO GREEN! 💚🤍
Falls are more common than you might think—but the good news is, many are preventable! From choosing the right shoes to building better routines, small changes can make a big difference. Check out our latest blog for simple tips to help you stay steady, confident and active this season.
Thinking about retirement living? Starting the conversation early gives you the freedom to design your future on your terms. At Silver Maples of Chelsea, we’re here to guide you every step of the way — with answers, encouragement, and a friendly face. Let’s start the conversation together. 💜
🐾 Hearts full, hands busy, and smiles all around! 🐾 Our recent trip to the Cascades Humane Society in Jackson was one to remember! Residents handmade cozy tie blankets, used their Bingo Bucks to purchase supplies, and even ordered extra goodies from Amazon to donate. 💜 Before heading to the shelter, our group of 16 stopped for a delicious lunch at Asher Creek Deli & Creamery in Grass Lake—yum! When we arrived, a staff member greeted us with an adorable adoptable puppy and shared more about the Humane Society’s work. Needless to say, our residents were smitten (and tried their best to convince us to bring that puppy home 🐶). It was such a heartwarming day filled with laughter, love, and giving back. Trips like these remind us just how generous and compassionate our residents are. 💜#GivingBack #CascadesHumaneSociety #CommunityWithHeart #SeniorLivingWithPurpose

What are people saying about Silver Maples?
The dedication to servicing their residents the staff at Silver Maples Show is hands down the best! Their dedication and genuine care create such a warm and welcoming environment for both residents and families. Silver Maples is a special place because of the people who pour their hearts into it. Thank you for ALL of you at Silver Maples!
The staff is experienced, warm, caring and advocates for their residents, families and their community.
Running into several friends touring at the same time made it feel as though we were already residents! Lucky us!
Silver Maples seems to be the right size--not too big, not too small.
The discussion of housing options and amenities offered at Silver Maples was thorough and helpful in decision-making. Christina took time to answer all our questions. Patti, the culinary Director, was friendly and gracious! We met a few residents, some of whom we've known from living in the Chelsea area for 40+ yrs. Each person expressed being very satisfied with the community. We were very impressed with the whole experience!
Very welcoming and caring staff and community. Residents are happy!
We recently moved into a Silver Maples villa. We expected to love it here, but it is even better than we expected. It is phenomenal! Great people, wonderful food, prompt service, lots of activities, and a caring family atmosphere. We are so glad we made the move.
My work was offered for sale at the 2023 Harvest Art Market. Barn Lion Studio makes original photo art greeting cards. This was my best and most fun show. The residents were very friendly and loved my cards. I will return in 2024.
My mother-in-law lived at SilverMaples for over 7 years and enjoyed her time there immensely. She developed many new friendships and the staff treated her like family. My only criticism was that when she moved over to assisted living and needed more help, they were occasionally understaffed.
My mother spent 5 wonderful years at Silver Maples independent living and two more years at the Meadows in assisted living. She loved both places and the care she received was excellent. The staff truly loved her and worked well with family concerns. Andy LaPorte
The caring and highly competent staff at Silver Maples is what makes this a special community. My mother lived there for about 8 years and for the last year and a half was in assisted living. The care managers set an example of compassionate care, and the care staff was awesome during a very difficult time. They were also kind and helpful to me and my family. I highly recommend Silver Maples of Chelsea.
Wonderful venue for fall and holiday shopping with diverse gift items.
Huge fan of this place! Wonderful community partner. The facilities, staff, and ambience are all top notch! Always excited when I have the opportunity to stop by!
I have been the Marketing and Sales Intern at Silver Maples of Chelsea for the last two summers and I could not have asked for a better organization to learn from, grow at, and serve. I consistently tell others if I could work here forever, I would! The bonds I have created with both the residents and staff is unmatched. The amenities & services are great, the care is wonderful, and the environment is warm & welcoming. I am so lucky to have spent two summers here; I cannot recommend this organization enough for individuals seeking employment & for families and their loved ones who are beginning to look at retirement home options.
It has been almost a month since my mom passed. She lived both in the independent living apartments and assisted living apartments at Silver Maples. We were very happy that my mom could be close to us in Chelsea and part of such a wonderful community. I miss my mom and I miss Silver Maples. Each time I drive to town I think of stopping at Silver Maples. Then I remind myself, no mom is not there anymore. The sense of loss goes beyond mom to the loss of a whole community of people that would greet us, tell us how much they loved my mom and her dog, and who supported us in the care of our mother. We (our family, staff and residents of Silver Maples) shared many times of happiness including when she won first prize for her Halloween costume (She looked forward to Halloween every year.) and sadness knowing she was near end of life. Thanks Silver Maples. Each time I drive by I will be thinking....I wonder how everyone is doing! Take care.
This facility provides many opportunities for residents to interact with each other and with the community, helping to keep them alert, active, and involved while enjoying music and other pastimes that they have participated in for a lifetime.
