Every 65 seconds, someone in the U.S. is diagnosed with Alzheimer’s or another form of dementia (Alzheimer’s Association). We’re thrilled to share that our team is now trained in SAIDO Learning, a scientifically backed program designed to support individuals experiencing memory loss through engaging, brain-stimulating exercises. Thanks to generous donations to our 𝐆𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐆𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐅𝐮𝐧𝐝 and a partnership with Covenant Living Services, we’re bringing this life-enriching program to our Meadows Assisted Living residents—making it possible for more individuals to age in place right here at Silver Maples. Recently we welcomed our SAIDO Master Trainer, Nicole Sickafoose, CDP, who led our Lead Team through a full day of hands-on training. It was busy, inspiring, and full of purpose! We’re incredibly proud of our team and grateful to be investing in a future that supports dignity, connection, and confidence for those living with memory loss. Stay tuned as we roll out this exciting new offering! Check out https://saidolearning.org/ to learn more about the program. At Silver Maples, we’re proud to celebrate a tradition rooted in generosity and a deep commitment to education. It all began in 2010, when our Resident Council began discussing the idea of supporting employees through scholarships. Just one year later, the first $1,000 scholarship was awarded — and what a journey it’s been since! Fast forward to today; we’re thrilled to share that we recently awarded an incredible $52,000 in scholarships to 16 deserving team members from our Culinary Services and Resident Care departments. Many of our recipients are continuing scholars, balancing their academic pursuits while providing outstanding care and service to our residents and families. 🎓💜 Congratulations to our 2025 scholarship recipients! Your dedication and drive continue to inspire us. Since the program began, we’ve awarded more than $260,000 in scholarships — all thanks to the incredible generosity of our residents, families, and supporters. 🌮🎉 Our Cinco de Mayo-themed mixer dinner brought people together over flavorful dishes, lively conversation, and a shared appreciation for culture and community. Residents enjoyed Chile Lime Salmon with Avocado Mango Salsa and Shredded Beef Tamales served in corn husks, alongside Mexican rice and a colorful zucchini, corn, and pepper medley. And of course—lime and strawberry margaritas to toast the evening! 🍹
From May 6–12, we honor the incredible nurses who pour their hearts into every moment of care. Our nurses offer a steady hand, listening ear, and a calming voice during life’s most vulnerable moments. They support not only our residents, but their families too—with compassion, strength, and a deep commitment to excellence. We appreciate you and are endlessly thankful for the love and light you bring to our community. #NationalNursesWeek #GratefulHearts #ThankYouNurses
🌟 A big shoutout to our incredible resident volunteers! 🌟 This year, an amazing 46% of our residents—that’s 92 individuals—are actively serving on one or more committees here at Silver Maples. Their time, ideas, and dedication are truly the heartbeat of our community. To show our appreciation, we host an annual Volunteer Appreciation Luncheon, where our leadership team has the pleasure of serving lunch to these remarkable individuals. It’s one of our favorite traditions! We also recognize two outstanding individuals as Volunteers of the Year—a small way to honor the big impact they make. From shaping programs to enhancing daily life, these volunteers make a meaningful impact every day. Thank you to each and every resident volunteer for your generosity, passion, and commitment. You make Silver Maples a vibrant and connected place to call home.

What are people saying about Silver Maples?
Very welcoming and caring staff and community. Residents are happy!
We recently moved into a Silver Maples villa. We expected to love it here, but it is even better than we expected. It is phenomenal! Great people, wonderful food, prompt service, lots of activities, and a caring family atmosphere. We are so glad we made the move.
My work was offered for sale at the 2023 Harvest Art Market. Barn Lion Studio makes original photo art greeting cards. This was my best and most fun show. The residents were very friendly and loved my cards. I will return in 2024.
My mother-in-law lived at SilverMaples for over 7 years and enjoyed her time there immensely. She developed many new friendships and the staff treated her like family. My only criticism was that when she moved over to assisted living and needed more help, they were occasionally understaffed.
My mother spent 5 wonderful years at Silver Maples independent living and two more years at the Meadows in assisted living. She loved both places and the care she received was excellent. The staff truly loved her and worked well with family concerns. Andy LaPorte
The caring and highly competent staff at Silver Maples is what makes this a special community. My mother lived there for about 8 years and for the last year and a half was in assisted living. The care managers set an example of compassionate care, and the care staff was awesome during a very difficult time. They were also kind and helpful to me and my family. I highly recommend Silver Maples of Chelsea.
Wonderful venue for fall and holiday shopping with diverse gift items.
Huge fan of this place! Wonderful community partner. The facilities, staff, and ambience are all top notch! Always excited when I have the opportunity to stop by!
I have been the Marketing and Sales Intern at Silver Maples of Chelsea for the last two summers and I could not have asked for a better organization to learn from, grow at, and serve. I consistently tell others if I could work here forever, I would! The bonds I have created with both the residents and staff is unmatched. The amenities & services are great, the care is wonderful, and the environment is warm & welcoming. I am so lucky to have spent two summers here; I cannot recommend this organization enough for individuals seeking employment & for families and their loved ones who are beginning to look at retirement home options.
It has been almost a month since my mom passed. She lived both in the independent living apartments and assisted living apartments at Silver Maples. We were very happy that my mom could be close to us in Chelsea and part of such a wonderful community. I miss my mom and I miss Silver Maples. Each time I drive to town I think of stopping at Silver Maples. Then I remind myself, no mom is not there anymore. The sense of loss goes beyond mom to the loss of a whole community of people that would greet us, tell us how much they loved my mom and her dog, and who supported us in the care of our mother. We (our family, staff and residents of Silver Maples) shared many times of happiness including when she won first prize for her Halloween costume (She looked forward to Halloween every year.) and sadness knowing she was near end of life. Thanks Silver Maples. Each time I drive by I will be thinking....I wonder how everyone is doing! Take care.
This facility provides many opportunities for residents to interact with each other and with the community, helping to keep them alert, active, and involved while enjoying music and other pastimes that they have participated in for a lifetime.
It a good retment place i came to see my mom a lots of times here.
Compassionate care. Great social networking. Stimulating environment throughout the campus. GREAT staff and planned activities.
My mom moved to Silver Maples 8 years ago not knowing anyone and fearful of losing her independence without a drivers license. She quickly found a loving group of friends and staff. During her stay she never lacked things to do; bridge, movies, parties, art shows , exercise classes, books galore, trips to concerts and interesting places. Driving was never an issue as she could always find transportation. The staff embraced her like family. Her final year was in Assisted Living where she received warm and constant care. We are so grateful for Silver Maples and highly recommend it.
Warm and caring staff, awesome residents
Hello, Folks, After I moved into Silver Maples, my friends asked me how I liked it. Without wasting a breath, I told them "I love it". My next sentence was usually, "I should have moved in five years ago". Easy to say that. I'll tell you why. Ready: Here goes: Friendly? Couldn't be friendlier. Residents? All kind and all kinds and very welcoming. Activities? Take your choice of concerts, travel,, shoot pool, Wii bowling, bridge, euchre, pinochle, bingo for babes and guys, horse shoes, croquet, and more. Or you can choose to do nothing.!! It's your choice. Staff? Like family, nothing less. FOOD? I dare you to find better. Local driving needs? Our bus will take you there and back. Am I prejudiced? You bet. Give a holler if you come to visit. Be glad to show you around.
