This year, we are proud to honor Angie Shankland, someone who may prefer to work quietly behind the scenes, but whose influence is deeply felt throughout our community. Angie consistently goes above and beyond for residents and colleagues, bringing thoughtful, creative activities to life and serving as a SAIDO facilitator, enriching the lives of residents with memory loss. She has a remarkable way of listening, problem-solving, and ensuring activities truly reflect what residents enjoy, while also including Meadows staff to make each moment more meaningful. With her calm presence, patience, kindness, and genuine love for her work, Angie makes Silver Maples a better place every single day. 🎄 Holiday cheer, big smiles, and lots of appreciation 🎄 Our staff Holiday party was the perfect mix of fun and gratitude—a chance to celebrate the season, enjoy each other’s company, and look back on an amazing year together. Laughter filled the room, spirits were high, and the joy of being part of this special community was unmistakable. We were especially grateful for the heartfelt thanks shared by Nancy Metcalf, Chair of the Resident Council, who reminded us just how much our residents value the care and dedication our team brings every day. So thankful for this incredible team and the fun, caring, and connected community we share. Cheers to a joyful holiday season!

An evening to remember, wrapped in sparkle and smiles. Our Resident Holiday Gala brought everyone together for a night filled with festive flair, heartfelt laughter, and the joy of being in community. From a beautifully prepared holiday feast to a performance by our holiday elves and a surprise visit from the Grinch—softened just a bit by his adorable helper, Vivian. The night was full of delightful moments that kept guests smiling, laughing and even dancing. More than anything, it was the togetherness, warmth, and shared holiday spirit that made the evening so special. The holiday season has been busy in the best way. Residents bundled up for a cozy bus tour to enjoy the Christmas lights around town—complete with cookies and hot chocolate, of course. We also shared plenty of laughs during Reindeer Games with our staff. Add in lots of festive hats, and the holiday cheer was complete! 🎄

Our residents are getting into the holiday spirit in a big way! They had fun creating festive door decorations for their apartments—choosing between a cheerful snowman, a jolly Santa, or a playful reindeer. Many apartment doors are now full of personality, creativity, and holiday cheer! It’s so much fun seeing their fun holiday decorations brighten up the halls and spread smiles all around. ❤️
