Which Waitlist Status Is Right for Me?

Not sure whether to choose active or inactive?
If you’re planning within the next few years—or simply want to understand how long it takes to reach the notification phase—we encourage active status. Being active allows you to receive early notifications, learn your position on the call list, and have thoughtful conversations with our team before you are ever asked to make a decision.

Inactive status is a good fit if Silver Maples is a long-term or “Plan B” option, or if you are not anticipating a move for another five (5) to seven (7) years.

Active vs. Inactive: What’s the Difference?

Active Status

  • Included in early notifications when homes become available
  • Learn how long it takes to reach the notification phase
  • See your position on the call list for a vacancy
  • Opportunity to talk through timing and preferences early
  • No pressure to accept an offer

Inactive Status

  • Not contacted when homes become available
  • Ideal for long-term planning or a “Plan B”
  • Best if you’re not planning to move for 5–7 years
  • Can switch to active at any time

Helpful Reminder: Being active is about staying informed—not committing to a move.
