Members of our leadership team had a great time volunteering at the first day of this year’s Sounds & Sights Festival! 🎶 Christina and JoAnne greeted guests in the Social Tent, while Holly and Mike pitched in at the Classic Car Show 🚗. One of the best parts? Running into several current and former Silver Maples employees—do you recognize any of these friendly faces? We always enjoy catching up with community members, and Silver Maples families, and friends. Events like these remind us just how strong our community really is. Chelsea, you never disappoint!

We took a little stroll down memory lane at the Classic Car Show during Chelsea’s Sounds & Sights festival 🚗✨ Our residents loved seeing these beauties up close – each car sparked stories of first dates, family road trips, and favorite rides from years past. 🚭😂 Who says you can’t have a little mischief in your day? Last week, a few of our residents staged a “smoke out” in the lobby…with 𝗰𝗮𝗻𝗱𝘆 𝗰𝗶𝗴𝗮𝗿𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗲𝘀! One of the ladies spotted them while shopping downtown Chelsea and thought, “We can have some fun with these!” Soon enough, ash trays were set out, candy cigarettes were in hand, and they even posted a sign declaring it a “𝗗𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗦𝗺𝗼𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗔𝗿𝗲𝗮” – despite our entire campus being non-smoking. Their creativity had everyone laughing. A couple shared stories about their real smoking days, including one who was hypnotized to quit. 👉 Candy cigarettes were so cool when we were kids – do you remember these? 💭 Just another example of how our residents bring humor, nostalgia, and joy to everyday life here. ❤️

Fraud Watch: Tips from Local Experts We were grateful to welcome Chelsea Police Chief Kevin Kazyak and Grant Smith from the Chelsea State Bank for an important presentation on scams targeting our community. They shared eye-opening examples of how scammers are reaching people by email, text, and even voicemail. One reassuring takeaway – falling for a scam doesn’t mean you’re foolish. Nothing says summer like an ice-cold root beer float! On this beautiful sunny afternoon, we took a group to the A&W in Dexter for some classic drive-in fun. 🍔🍦 With frosty mugs, delicious hot dogs, burgers, fries, and lots of laughter under the shade trees, it was the perfect way to soak up the season and enjoy each other’s company.
