Gallery 100 presents Whispers in the Field, a landscape exhibit featuring the work of Michigan artist Avé Madiol Veneklasen. The exhibition will be on display July 10 through August 27, with an opening reception scheduled for July 19 from 2 to 3:30 p.m.

An artist deeply inspired by beauty in all its forms, Veneklasen draws from a lifelong connection to nature, shaped by childhood experiences exploring forests, fields, and the shores of Lake Michigan. Best known for her figurative work, this collection highlights her passion for landscape painting and the profound sense of wonder she experiences while painting outdoors.
Created primarily through plein air painting, the works capture the changing light, colors, and textures of Michigan’s natural landscapes. Many of the pieces were inspired by scenes near Veneklasen’s home and studio on Little Wolf Lake in Grass Lake, where she continues to paint, teach, and host artistic gatherings.
Working in oil, Veneklasen brings a rich sense of depth and atmosphere to each painting, preserving fleeting moments in nature with both reverence and technical skill. Whispers in the Field invites viewers to pause, reflect, and experience the beauty of the natural world through the artist’s eyes.
Guests are invited to attend the July 19 reception to meet the artist, learn more about her creative process, and view the collection firsthand.
