Silver Maples of Chelsea Retirement Neighborhood, is proud to announce it’s been certified as a Great Place to Work®. This national award recognition and certification is part of Fortune Magazine’s “Best Workplaces” list. Great Place to Work focuses primarily on employee engagement and measures the trust employees have in their organization and leadership.

Great Place to Work, an independent research and consulting firm, evaluated more than 60 elements of team members’ experience on the job. These included employee pride in the organization’s community impact, belief that their work makes a difference, and feeling their work has special meaning. Rankings are based on the experiences of the employee no matter who they are, the role they fill, or how long they’ve been a part of the organization.

“We have focused on creating an energetic and engaged workplace culture over the last few years, one built on trust and commitment,” shares Julie Deppner, Executive Director/CEO “The Great Place To Work recognition affirms the positive environment we’ve worked so hard to build!” JoAnne Reynolds, Director of Human Resources said, “We work very hard to live our mission every day to “excel at creating & supporting a positive aging experience” for our residents. Our staff is engaged and committed to our mission and The Great Place to Work Certification validates this! This certification is cause to celebrate and one of a number of tools we will use to attract and retain valuable staff in these challenging times.”

When people think of a great workplace, they often think of lavish company perks and benefits. While perks and benefits are always enjoyed, the definition of a great workplace goes far deeper. A great workplace is about the level of trust that employees experience in their leaders, the level of pride they have in their jobs, and the extent to which they enjoy their colleagues. While trust, pride and camaraderie are often challenging to sustain, they are attainable by organizations willing to work on them. We are especially proud to share that Silver Maples achieved an overall Trust Index Score of 88% and outpaced similar organizations in the Aging Services category in the following areas:

  • 95 percent said I’m proud to tell others I work here.
    (National benchmark 87%)
  • 95 percent said I feel good about the ways we contribute to the community.
    (National benchmark 89%)
  • 95 percent said our customers would rate the service we deliver as “excellent”.
    (National benchmark 83%)
  • 94 percent said I am given the resources and equipment to do my job.
    (National benchmark 84%)
  • 94 percent said I believe management would lay people off only as a last resort.
    (National benchmark 80%)

“We applaud Silver Maples of Chelsea for seeking certification and releasing its employees’ feedback,” said Dr. Jacquelyn Kung, of Great Place to Work’s senior care affiliate Activated Insights. “These ratings measure its capacity to earn its own employees’ trust and create a great workplace for high performance.”
