November through December our Gallery 100 will be featuring floral paintings by local artist, Joanne Porter. The watercolor pieces that make up the exhibit really are the bounty of nature!
Joanne prefers to work from fresh flowers in her watercolor pieces, rather than from photographs. She says, “When I start a painting, I imagine a slight breeze gently moving the petals. I then try to capture that movement in my composition. Using many layers of color, my intent is to convey the delicate feel of the flowers as well as their richness of color.” Joanne has shown her work in many exhibits and received numerous awards for her beautiful artwork. Our residents truly enjoy having her work displayed in our Gallery 100.
